I’m passionate about the intersection of media, communication, and AI.
A former journalist and marketer, I’m the AI Program Coordinator at New York University’s Center for Publishing, Writing, and Media.
I also teach at the Hussman School of Journalism and Media at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
I’m currently available for interviews and talks, including keynotes.
The thrill of chasing leads and interviewing sources was the heartbeat of my early life in journalism. I loved the work — its urgency, its rigor, and the way a single detail could change the entire story. I haven’t lost that passion for writing, media, and communication.
Then I watched the ground beneath my industry shift: Social media, and algorithms, a radically altered information landscape.
Experiencing those changes up close pushed me to ask bigger questions and work with technologies, such as AI, that are transforming our media, learning, and work today.
I co-developed New York University’s Communications & AI program, and serve as program and faculty coordinator, helping us chart its future with expanded course offerings and enrollment.
I have also discussed AI and the future of work, learning, and education in keynotes, panels, and media outlets, including public radio. I also teach media, storytelling, and ethics at The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
Publications. Research. Writing.
My research examines how we are shaped by AI technologies, from AI-driven social media feeds to generative models, with special attention to a central question:
How can we flourish in partnership with these powerful systems — strengthening our agency, while improving our productivity, skills, and learning?
Alongside my academic work, I write about environmental and other issues, and I continue to develop creative projects, including a novel. I am also writing a book on learning and working with AI, a practical guide for professionals, teachers, and students.
